14 – 18 September, 2009, CFF and Queenscliff based respite service provider, Cottage by the Sea, saw nine year 7 primary aged girls from Palm Island take part in a camp with nine other Victorian Koorie (Victorian indigenous) girls from the Ararat area.
The girls were given the chance to make new friendships by sharing activities like canoeing, mountain biking, a steam train ride, a bbq lunch, visiting a jewelry making work shop, visiting Melbourne’s Victoria market, as well as enjoying the Cottage’s own entertainment facilities and local beaches.
Catherine Freeman Foundation Founder, Catherine Freeman, and CFF’s Program Coordinator, Svea Pitman, visited the girlson their last night and were greeted by some very delightful young women who, obviously, were happier for the CBTS experience.
CFF wish to thank and acknowledge CBTS for their ongoing and tremendous support.
