August 28, 2009, Catherine Freeman visited St Mary’s primary school East Saint Kilda.
She was greeted with much warmth and enthusiasm from excited students and staff.
Catherine enjoyed a question and answer interview given by the students before they ran laps around the school’s oval.
Catherine’s visit coincided with the school’s ‘indigenous week’ which staff had integrated into their curriculum which children whole heartedly learnt about Australian aboriginal history and culture.
The school visit was an auction item that raised $9500 from the CFF ‘go for gold’ fundraising gala dinner last may.
CFF wishes to thank and acknowledge St Mary’s students and staff including Principal Sophie Hilbert and Vice-Principal Rosemary Jeunet.
